The New Aston Martin Vanquish ? Set To Improve Perfection Further ...

Aston Martin Vanquish

Aston Martin ? They are words that get any car enthusiast excited, the history, the beauty, the sound, the pedigree. Since Aston Martin went through its? rejuvenation back in the early 2000?s the famous British marquee has encountered huge success and it looks set to continue in 2012 with the brand new replacement for the DBS ? The Vanquish ? take two.

When it?s predecessor, the DBS was released it encountered much criticism from Journalists around the world challenging it?s place in the Aston Martin range, it being merely a sportier more expensive DB9 rather than a brand new car. However many moons later, opinion is completely different ? the car seemingly getting better as it has got older much like a fine wine.

The DBS is now considered almost the ?perfect? GT car, having combined a perfect recipe that defines Aston Martin. The drop dead Beauty, the iconic V12 Bellow and the pure brute power propelling it to ungodly speeds. Many fans and in fact journalists couldn?t picture any way the car could get better ? however that hasn?t stopped Aston Martin trying to improving it. So it leaves us with one thing to ask ? Have they pulled it off?

Well the new Vanquish as promised by Aston Martin will be the first of a new generation of Aston Martin?s ? a brand new breed and not just an update of the current DBS. So let?s start with the raw facts and figures that the car has brought to the table. The 6 litre V12 is retained which won?t please the eco mentalists in the slightest, but will bring huge smiles to the faces of us petrol heads. It has been extensively reworked however with new manifold, intake and variable valve timing to now produce over 565hp and will propel the car to 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds. We can imagine that the magic 200mph barrier will be easily surpassed too; this is down to the brand new all Carbon body which has been able to reduce weight by upwards of 40kg.

Boot space which has never really been a problem in big Aston?s is now up by an astonishing 60% to 368 litres, this is an incredibly impressive figure given the car?s capabilities. The previous DBS was renowned for it?s super tight handling for such a hefty lump but for the new Vanquish brand new springs are brought in to lower the car by 19mm to give it an extra aggressive stance, this combined with a chassis in the range of 40% stiffer will mean this really is a car could really be a good potential track weapon.

But now is the most important part ? the beauty. The new all Carbon Shell has been beautifully moulded giving deep strakes down the side of the doors with sculptured hips. The iconic Aston grille as seen on the DB9 and DBS is now extensively raised to make way for an intricate front splitter similar to that of the 458. It takes styling tips from both the One 77 supercar and V12 Zagato to some extent with a compact back end.

Is it as pretty as the DB9? Well the DB9 was super sleek in its stance which won it so much praise from critics worldwide. The DBS in looking for a more aggressive approach got somewhat lost in recovering some of that sheer beauty and the new Vanquish looks set to be a compromise between both ? A handsome brute nonetheless.

The old Vanquish was considered the most hardcore model Aston Martin produced, and with the numbers this car is boasting it looks set to overtake the DBS as a more aggressive, sharper focused car when push comes to shove.
